ViceVersa Pro: Really Easy File Syncs
Opening up this month's TechNet magazine to page 7 reveals to me a very nice review of TGRMN's Vice Versa Pro application. It's a great application that I use all the time to synchronize files between my desktop and my laptop.
Big fan. Big fan.
One of its coolest features...
...is the ability to do true mirroring between two file stores -- not just one-directional, but in both directions. Being an author and speaker, my written documents are my whole business. So, losing a hard drive means potentially losing my business. So, I use Vice Versa to sync my desktop with the laptop that I rarely plug into power or network at home. This means my business can survive a lightning strike!
For your business, this tool could potentially be a life-saver for mirroring two directory structures between two Windows Servers. Need to ensure a loose consistency between the file structures in two locations? Have a huge data migration and want a database back-end to the file copy progress? Don't like robocopy? Check out ViceVersa Pro. It's only $60 for a single user and it makes file synchronizations really easy.
The review is not yet posted on-line, but will be at some point at: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/technetmag/. You can download Vice Versa Pro from TGRMN at: http://www.tgrnm.com
