VMware Releases TCO Calculator

A little dated on this, but definitely something you're going to want to look into if you're in the market for virtualization. VMware has released an on-line calculator that will help you understand the Total Cost of Ownership for a move to virtualization.

The calculator takes into account...

...the number of servers in your environment, the number of hours for provisioining, the GB of storage and its type (DAS vs. SAN), the type of business you are in and your currency type.

As with all on-line calculators, the answers they give you are only an estimate into what the real costs will be. But, they come in handy for convincing the money people in your business to consider an investment.

Check it out at: http://www.vmware.com/products/vi/calculator.html
