Citrix & RES Software White Paper on DABCC.com

Doug Brown's blog includes a link to a white paper released by RES Software on the benefits of combining their solutions with an existing Citrix implementation.

RES Software's suite is a great tool for any administrator that takes much of the guesswork out of locking down and otherwise securing desktops and applications in Citrix sessions. I've seen their product at a number of my consulting clients, and it is one of the few products all of them agree they can't live without.

This particular white paper...

...is a little light on technical detail. But, its got some compelling case studies that help the reader understand where RES Software plays in the Citrix ecosystem. Its worth a few minutes of your time if you're having problems with desktop lock down and security.

The paper outlines the following use cases:

Increasing User Productivity:
Individualize and dynamically provision workspaces
Provide consistent user experience independent of operating system, location, applications, etc.

Enhancing Security
Lockdown desktops as needed and reduce vulnerability to malware
Manage access to corporate data and drives

Extending IT Governance & Regulatory Compliance
Automate and obtain detailed configuration reports and enable audit tracking

Improving IT Administrator Efficiency
Centralize management of user workspaces
Minimize number of supported server images
Simplify publishing of applications on Citrix infrastructure
