BREAKING: Windows Server 2008 RTM Delayed

Mary Jo Foley, with her finger on the pulse of Microsoft as always, reports that Microsoft has announced a slip in the RTM date for Server 2008 from Q4, 2007 to Q1, 2008.

As of now Microsoft will not slip the launch party date, set for February 27th. It is not known if the RTM will be before or after the party.

Remember that there is usually a period of months between RTM and the official release to get the product through distribution channels and partners spun up.

More info as we get it. Until then, Mary Jo's report (where does she get her dish?):
