Don't Wait! Server 2008 is Already at SP1

Um... Uhhh... OK... I think I get this. According to Mary Jo Foley this morning, in an attempt to closely match the codebase (and even the way in which we talk about the codebase) between Server 2008 and Vista SP1, Microsoft has just gone ahead and labelled the RTM version of Server 2008 as Server 2008 SP1.

So, if you're one of the types that waits until SP1 to start deploying Microsoft software, well its time to start thinking about it. Microsoft has announced that the "first" service pack for Server 2008 will actually be Service Pack 2. I guess... Whatever...

Cheesy, I know. But, I kinda' see the point in that Server 2008 RTM and Vista SP1's codebase are effectively the same thing. So keeping them aligned is in the best interests of Microsoft.
