Server 2008 RC1 Released. So, What's New?
As you've probably already read elsewhere, Server 2008 RC1 is now released to the public. You can get your own copy of the softwarwe from this link.
The big question on many people's minds is, "Between RC0 and RC1, what's changed?" In looking through reports on the web, it appears the following...
Group Policy Preferences: What used to be called PolicyMaker is now GP Preferences and is available for everyone. Preferences, in a nutshell, are Group Policy "suggestions" that you assign to users and they can choose to change if they want.Windows Server Virtualization: Another build of this new Role in Server 2008. Though remember still that WSV won't come out of Beta until 180 days past Server 2008's RTM.
Windows Genuine Advantage changes: The kill switch gets killed. Once a temporary license is expired WGA will no longer disable the O/S. It'll just nag you incessantly. Microsoft, if you're listening, thank you for this. We recognize this'll impact licensing, but at the same time when we forget to install licenses to our production servers, this won't kill them hard.
Name changes to services and roles/features/role services: These may have been done a while ago for the RC0 release, but there have been some name changes to some services, roles, features, and role services. I need to check on this.
The rest appears to be a bunch of bug fixes. If I've missed anything, please comment below and let me know.

Hi, great Blog!, I was writing an article for my Blog and was looking for the differences because I can't find something official about RC0 vs RC1, but I can tell you that this change too:
Windows SharePoint Services [Windows-SharePoint] No longer available from Server Manager.
Routing and Remote Access Services Tools [RSAT-RAS] and Health Registration Authority Tools [RSAT-HRA] not available for features too.
Windows Recovery Disc [Recovery-Disc] also not available. If I found something else I will comment you. Thanks !!
