VMware Virtual Infrastructure vs. SWsoft Virtuozzo. Royal Rumble...

It looks like Redmond Magazine has posted a white paper I recently wrote that compares the features and capabilities of VMware Virtual Infrastructure and ESX with SWsoft Virtuozzo. (Full Disclosure: It was sponsored by SWsoft)

Even considering the sponsorship, its worth a read. If you haven't played yet with O/S Virtualization, you really should do so. SWsoft's product continues to amaze me the more I work with it (which is a comment I attribute only very rarely). Their product has the potential for greater virtual machine density, which means more virtual servers per physical server. At the same time, it all runs on Windows, which means you don't have to learn Linux like you do with VMware.

Check out the comparison for yourself at:

I tried Virtuozzo. It is a decent product. But VMware has the total suite of applications that can't be beat. I love the VMware products and we have deployed VMware throughout our data centers throughout the world. It will be difficult to introduce any other virtualization products until they have matured to VMware's level. We can't wait.
