« 2008 Cumulative Time Zone Update for Windows now in Early Release | Main | A Multitude of Ways to Approve Updates through WSUS »

Prepare Yourself for Vista SP1. Install its Necessary Prerequisites.

One of the three prerequisites for the Vista SP1 upgrade is available now. According to the Vista team blog, KB935509, the first of these, "modifies the boot loader to enable successful install or uninstall of the service pack if the PC uses BitLocker encryption."

Two additional prerequisites will eventually be released and will be required for a Vista SP1 upgrade. The other two required updates will, "have an updated installer technology which will increase performance and reduce failures for the installation of updates, which are great improvements to make even if you choose to wait to deploy SP1."

Keep an eye on this space for more info about Vista SP1's requirements. With the early October hiatus of the Vista Community here at Realtime, I'll be picking up a bit of the slack for super-critical Vista-based announcements.
