Cluster Troubleshooting in the Print Services Role

CC Hameed over at the Ask the Performance Team blog goes through a very handy process to assist with troubleshooting a "stuck" cluster. This cluster specifically hosts printer queues and when attempting to move the resources from node to node the target node ends up being stuck in the "Starting" state.

I've always had a love/hate affair with clustering in Server 2003 and earlier. The log used to troubleshoot WIndows clusters is complex and painful to read. Hameed's article here discusses in detail how to decyper the log to determine why this particular cluster got "stuck".

Read it yourself at: http://blogs.technet.com/askperf/archive/2008/03/21/the-case-of-the-stuck-cluster-service.aspx
