BREAKING: VMware Server 2.0 Beta 2 is Now Available

Just got notified by the product team that VMware Server 2.0 Beta 2 can now be downloaded from the VMware web site.

Hopefully this version fixes some of my issues from the first Beta.

I haven't downloaded the installation yet, but if it is anything like VMware's usual Beta products, they'll have debug mode enabled. Debug mode significantly slows the performance of any virtual machines running on VMware Server, so it should be disabled if you plan to use it for more than basic testing. Here are a set of instructions used to disable it for the previous version. I have not tested these to see if they function with this version.

Get the Server 2 Beta 2 install at: http://www.vmware.com/beta/server/index.html

Comments

Server 2.0 Beta 2 has the ability to disable debug mode via the Web Access UI. Take a look in the FAQ posted on vmware.com/beta/server

Thanks for the update! I haven't had the opportunity to check it myself, so this is useful information for those early adopters who will be quickly moving to VMware Server 2.0. And thanks also for your updates regarding the new versions!
